All images and track titles are taken from a notebook that belonged to my Grandfather, George Begg. He worked as an engineer in the North of England and died soon after I was born in 1972. Si Begg.
Your Grandfather had a rich life. Prefessionally his engineering career began in the heyday of steam and ended with the dawn of computers. But he was also a talented amateur musician and loved the outdoors. Key to his personality was his quiet determination to rise from his relatively ordinary upbringing, to be a highly respected figure in his proffesion. He never stopped learning, and his notebooks are proof of that. Wherever he went, there was something new to observe, write down, and commit to memory. Chriss Begg
